Episode 140: Just the Two of Us

(NSFW)

News and Topics

We have not done a show with just Brian and Greg for a long time.  Earlier in the night, we were interviewed by the Lucha Undead podcast (Twitter) so we decided to record this show with just the two of us.  We start the show off with a beer from Bottle Logic called Titan of Tokyo and then talk about the beer a little bit.  From there we get into a few of the other beers we drank before starting the show and that leads directly into talking more about Beach Grease brewing and what we feel are the requirements of opening a brewery are in today’s market.  That leads to more discussion about other new breweries coming up in the next year or so.  We bring up SD TapRoomKairoa Brewing Company, aka Long Cloud, Gravity Heights, Fourpenny House, Depot Springs, and Julian Brewing.

We take a break and come back to the news of Avery Brewing and it’s sale of 30% to Mahou San Miguel.  Greg then talks about his Instagram post that got some negative feedback as it looked like a paid advertisement and less like a normal photo.  The last topic of the show is a tweet by ChewYourBeer about an Alpine Hoppy Birthday he found with the Best By date of May 2016.  Green Flash did respond, but we discuss what customers and breweries should do when “shelf turds” are found.
