This show will be a little different from our other interview shows. We are joined by Omar Passons who is a lawyer that always wants to make sure the “little guy” is not taken advantage of. This includes breweries and making sure they don’t get taken advantage of by governmental regulations. Please enjoy this show as it is a break away from just talking about brewing.
One thing that doesn’t change with an interview is that we generally start with the history of the guest. We get Omar’s personal history as well has his beer history. We ask him how his education and background come to guide his actions in helping not only the brewing industry in San Diego, but also in areas of San Diego like homelessness and foster care. We move onto advocacy and unfortunately it comes out as an example with the 10 Barrel arriving in San Diego.
After a short break Omar continues the conversation about advocacy and then moves into a talk about the “Enhanced Food Service Options” amendment to the county code. Omar talks about how the average person can help and how it can be hard for everyone to understand that not everyone in government is in it for the right reason, some are in it for their own reasons. We then get into some social media questions and it gets a little strange for a bit and then it gets a little real for a bit.
