A small crew this week, Greg interviews Cristian (Cris) Liang from Common Theory Public House.  We talk about what it’s like to open a craft beer restaurant.

Cris and I talk about how he came to open up Common Theory.  We talk about the the world of craft beer from the perspective of a buyer for a restaurant.  Cris fills us in on what makes a good craft beer bar and how to properly maintain your draft equipment.  We discuss everything from getting beer from the breweries and distributors to Cicerone training for servers to what the building used to be before Common Theory took it over.  Enjoy the show!

It’s been a while since we talked.  Our guest in this episode is Paul Sangster from Rip Current Brewing and I have some help from a few knowledgable co-hosts.  My co-hosts for this show are Ryan Flinn and Matt Woempner from Mobile West Canning.

Interview:

We talk to Paul about everything from homebrewing to starting a brewery.  We also talk about Green Flash buying Alpine Brewing.  Is that a good thing for Alpine?  Is that a good thing for Green Flash?  Is it is a good ting for San Diego beer?  We get into some geeky conversations about how important water is in the brewing process and how hard it can be to get hops.  Rip Current is opening a new tasting room in North Park, we talk about its possible opening date and how it will be different from the brewery.
